Overview
The voice agent is designed for patients who are unable to use an online form, have limited digital literacy, or simply prefer to speak rather than type.
The interaction is conversational and conducted one question at a time, using simple language. The agent collects essential demographic information, understands the chief complaint, performs structured clinical triage, screens for relevant associated symptoms and red flags, and records brief medical, surgical, and allergy history.
The collected information is then converted into a structured SOAP summary. The system does not make a definitive diagnosis; instead, it identifies the appropriate clinical department and facilitates consultation booking.
It provides a third registration pathway alongside online self-registration and assisted registration at the hospital counter.
How the Voice Agent Works
Patient calls → AI voice interview → Structured clinical information → SOAP summary → Department selection → Facility & consultation booking
The system can use the patient's district and block to identify an appropriate government health facility. General specialties can be routed to a CHC or Sadar Hospital, while superspecialty consultations are directed to an appropriate Medical College.
The agent also incorporates red-flag screening. If a potentially life-threatening symptom is identified, the interview stops and the patient is directed to emergency care rather than proceeding with routine registration or booking.
The Key Idea
The objective is not to replace the doctor.
The objective is to ensure that, before the patient reaches the doctor, the patient's story has already been captured, structured, and made available for clinical evaluation.
